We hope you all had a very happy Christmas!
It was a very busy time for Szikora fine art. We are celebrating our first birthday by moving premises and while also planning

*Happy new year to you all!*
It’s time to face 2009 and all the challenges it will bring…not least this rotten, crunchy credit thing.
This inconvenience will pass and, in the meantime, maybe it’s an ideal opportunity to remember simpler pleasures. So while we tighten our belts a little, forget the organic, handflung, sundried goat bread, why not rediscover the simple joy of beans on toast? I, for one will be making it my business to have more tea parties. And don’t worry about houseprices, it will only give you wrinkles in the wrong places.
For anyone who has been following my story in 2008, you will know I have been embroiled in a bizarre and unpleasant battle with my old gallery….well, it’s not over till the fat lady sings….and I await the big day in the high court, but at least I am now, _finally_, in a position to pick up the brushes again and my most important New Year’s resolution (apart from not getting sued again) is to paint a bit of sunshine for you.
Sometime in January, this old website will receive a nice little facelift and, throughout February, there will be a series of new limited edition pictures arriving.
I hope you will join my *’LAUGHING IN THE FACE OF RECESSION’* gang.
all the best
SJ
ps I will be reviewing the Yoko Ono exhibition featuring at the Gateshead Baltic art gallery shortly - can’t wait can you?.

Hello again, I’m also looking for ‘Girl with a Broken Heart’: can anyone help?

Hi Victoria. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but someone is selling a Totty on the Tyne limited edition print on Ebay. Buy it now price of £399 + £25 P&P. It’s open to offers though and ends 11 Feb.
I’m not on commission, honest :- ) I just understand how difficult it is to find a sold out print that you really like.

Thanks Karen for the info: will have a look but didnt really want to pay that much.
what do you think of the new prints?

Karen A said on the February 7th, 2009:
Hi Victoria.
The TOTT print is open to offers. Try offering what you want to pay and the seller has 48hrs to accept/decline. If you don’t hear back from them, it means it’s been declined. I’ve seen prints go for less than the buy it now price. As we say in Scotland, “shy bairns don’t get” :- )
Regarding Sarah’s new prints, I love them. I’m a gingerbread fan and have splashed out on 3; The Makeover, Mischief of Mice and L’enfant Terrible (which all but Sarah’s site has advertised as The Defendant - I’ve just phoned the gallery I bought from and they’ve told me there’s a mix-up on the mailing they received, but they’re going to amend it and let the issuer know). I’m now panicing that I’m going to end up with the wrong print, but they’ve told me I won’t.
Good luck in the search for your prints; I’ll keep a look out for you and will drop a message here if I find them. I’ve spent many an evening trawling the net and gallery websited for prints I’d like at the price I’d like to pay. The variations in price are amazing!

Victoria;
TOTT - try http://www.art-prints-online.co.uk.
Girl with a Broken Heart - http://www.strandgalleryltd.co.uk.
Prices quoted are likely to be out of date but may be worth an enquiry if you’re keen to find! Good luck.

Dear Karen:
Well just put in a cheeky offfer on TOTT and Lonely Hearts: wish me luck.
Maybe on this website they should have a shopper fo people to sell or swap there prints but dont know if it would be used as I would never get rid of my prints.
Let me know what you think of your prints when they come.
