A Christmas message from the Queen biscuit

A Christmas message from the Queen biscuit

My dearest loyal fig rolls,

I hope you have enjoyed a splendid time since we last met, all bonfires and vampires, empty trees and woolly pullies.

It’s that special time of year already, when we scoff the Quality Street far too early

Summer 2011

Dearest little BBQ sausages,
It’s nearly over but what a summer! Admittedly, it was mostly in the earlier months but I can’t remember so many days of sunshine in years.
North Shields normally hosts a freezing, grey coastline but it has become almost…. ‘holidayesque’ ! I was suddenly seeing blue sky, and feeling a lovely warm breeze. The normally infuriating seagulls are calling “come and buy chips……come and buy chips”! Well, who am I to ignore avian instruction?….the birds

How’s your May going my little custard creams?

mine’s is doing quite nicely thank you. The sun is out, the garden is growing, I’ve had pimms in a deckchair (v.posh) to celebrate the bank holidays and only one downside I can detect, are the freckles on my face giving me that unfortunate, u

December/January and Spring releases 2010

We hope you all had a very happy Christmas!

It was a very busy time for Szikora fine art.  We are celebrating our first birthday by moving premises and while also planning the forthcoming print release, SJ still found  time to attend an event in the Whitewall Galleries, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Just in time to make her Christmas extra special, lucky prize draw winner, Olga Fiodorow,  won a lovely Gingerbread Castle commissioned by Sarah-Jane especially for the exhibition.  The fabulous Castle was lovingly hand made by local master bakers Ian and Jan Thomson and decorated in all Sarah-Jane’s trademark confectionery.

The four day promotion of SJ’s artwork on her home turf  went very well indeed.  There were plenty of gingerbread men in Y-fronts and gorgeous handmade chocolates were supplied by another  local business ‘Savarin’s’ – Information about both of these wonderful Newcastle companies can be found by clicking the following links:

Dear Sarah and Ian, congratulations on your new home, Happy new year, may this year bring you lots of inspiration and good health. Please make sure I am on your mailing list for the new releases, I have high hopes that some of my favourites are going to be on it. The house is beginning to look a little like a gingerbread take over. That was never our intention, still never mind, the kids, our parents all love them, they are drifting out to our holiday home in spain, my regret, we dont get out there that often.
Take care, Mandy Mark and kids.

    Hi Sarah,
Don’t forget to include us in your new releases email – still have a bit of wall space left. Keeping our fingers crossed that our faves from the london exhibition are being released.

Hi Sarah, hope your keeping well. Please, please, please include me in your new releases email. I have a lovely collection of 12 pieces now. Running out of wall space has not been a problem, am either getting more walls added on or moving!!!! It was a close call getting The Makeover and Mischief of mice, so please don’t forget me this time. Can’t wait, keep up the good work. My kids love them, they get as excited as me now.xxxx

Hi Sarah, Ian and Margi (who I met in Birmingham last week)

Love all the new prints, just had to have Rude Food though (Margi told me what you really wanted to call it, ha, ha!!!). On Margi’s advice to use this portal to advertise, I have some prints to sell to a good home, offers invited:
    “Ace” (framed)
    “Biscuit baiting” (mounted)
    “Lonely Heart” (framed)
Anyway good luck and best wishes, keep up the good work. My 9-year old boy can’t put your book down at the moment!!!
